Theatrical trailer for the disappointing screen version of Jules Verne's science-fantasy classic, FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, starring Joseph Cotten, George Sanders, Deborah Paget and Don Dubbins. One of the last films made by RKO, the film had the misfortune to go into production just as the legendary studio was shutting down. The budget was slashed to get the picture finished, resulting in poor special effects (--which are added after principal filming--) and elimination of several key scenes. Despite its solid cast, Technicolor photography and oddly out-of-place electronic score (borrowed from FORBIDDEN PLANET), FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON was a dull, tedious misfire when it was finally made it to the screens released by another studio in 1958.
